INTRODUCTION

FRANCE TRAVEL SPY is a travel game for children and adults, and it has been produced to play whilst travelling by road in France, as well as providing little games that can be played at any time.

It is good fun, quite addictive, and it definitely reduces travel boredom as you make your way by car through France.

The  AREA cards will also give you a greater insight into this large and diverse country, as well as offering some suggestions as to what you can see and do, together with a little background information on the REGIONS.

Start off by simply placing a peg in the FranceTravelSpy Board as you Spy the Department Codes. See how many 
you can Spy on your journey!

We also provide you with a Tick Sheet to quickly check your previous spies for use in conjunction with the Spy board.

BACKGROUND

There are 95 DEPARTMENTS in France in 22 REGIONS (if you include Corsica a & b). Each DEPARTMENT has a PREECTURE and these PREFECTURES issue the vehicle registration plates. Each DEPARTMENT has been assigned a number from 01 to 95 and these numbers can be seen on the right hand side of most FRENCH number plates.

Hence a car registered at the PREFECTURE in say CARCASSONNE in the DEPARTMENT of the AUDE in the REGION of LANGUEDOC ROUSSILLON will have the number 11. Therefore with the help of FRANCE TRAVEL SPY you can see where the vehicles were registered and SPY them on the TRAVEL BOARD, and then if you wish, with the help of the TRAVEL CARDS you can learn a little about that area and perhaps where the people have come from and thus become a TRAVEL SPY!

In 2008 the new style number plates were brought in but normally whether the vehicles are Classic or Brand New you will see the AREA CODE (+LOGO).
You will be surprised how many of the codes you can SPY and whether you are a child or an adult (or both! ) it will entertain every one during long journeys.
